Clara’s 3rd Birthday Bash: Giving Hope to 4 More

Clara’s 3rd Birthday Bash

Dear Friend:Last August, 2.5 year old Hoover resident Clara Bragg was diagnosed with GM1 Gangliosidosis, a terminal neurological disease. This diagnosis is fatal and can lead to blindness, deafness, seizures, and the inability to move or self-feed. However, Alabama researchers have successfully cured animals with this disease over the last seven years and are in need of funds to take their cure to an FDA-sanctioned human trial. Without this treatment she will slowly fade away and likely die before the age of ten. (To read more on GM1 and Clara’s story, visit

We are reaching out in hopes that you will partner with us and support the “A Cure for Clara” campaign. This campaign is focused on supporting the Cure GM1 Foundation by raising funds for this clinical trial. In honor of Clara’s 3rd birthday, we are hosting an adult only gala on April 08, 2017 at The Redmont Hotel entitled Clara’s 3rd Birthday Bash: Giving Hope to 4 and More. Our goal is to raise $30,000 at this event for the Cure GM1 Foundation through ticket sales, a silent auction or raffle, a Kendra Scott jewelry pull and by offering a variety of sponsorship opportunities to charitable local businesses.

By supporting this event, you will help give children like Clara a chance to live as well as support groundbreaking medical history. This therapy is the only case of a fatal genetic disease being cured in the lab, and if successful at trial could eradicate GM1 from existence and then be used to treat other childhood diseases as well. For information on sponsorship levels, please see the attached sponsor form. Please note that the Cure GM1 Foundation is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-exempt; sponsors will receive a receipt for their tax records.

We hope that we can count on you to support this well deserving cause and be a part of eliminating this terrible disease forever so that no parent ever has to hear the tragic words that their child is dying and nothing can be done. We will be in touch with you soon, but please feel free to contact us in the meantime with any questions at or 512-971-2958. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely, Jenny & Ryan Bragg
