Teen Six Word Story Contest

Thursday, February 1 – Wednesday, February 28

Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway placed a bet that he could write a story in just six words. If the legend is true, then he won with “For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn.” Now it is your turn!

The Homewood Public Library is challenging any 6th-12th grader in Jefferson County to write a story with just six words! Students can submit one original six word story. The contest is open from Thursday, February 1 through Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Winners will be announced the first week of March. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Poems can be submitted via the library’s website. Click on the “register” button on the left to be redirected to the entry form. For more information, please contact Judith Wright at jrwright@bham.lib.al.us or at 205-332-6622.
