Hey Dad: Do your Best
Most dads really have a desire to become really good fathers. I have discovered over the years that for me to be the best dad I can, I must read and study God’s Word. But, an even greater desire of mine is that I do what the Bible teaches. “Information” is really not worth much without “application.”
My hope for all dads, is that everyday they will seek God’s wisdom. As He reveals His wisdom to you, it will be important for one to take proper action. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” The first step is to desire and seek God; to want to be close to Him, to choose to worship Him. Secondly, work on living a Godly, righteous life. Which, by the way, you can’t live without His help. If you live this way, the promise in this verse says that God will take care of the rest. Wow! That should be the way we would want to live anyway. But this lifestyle does require something…faith, trust, and action.
Bottom-line: You will never be a great dad unless you first seek God and His righteousness and second take action and trust him to use you.
