Dr. Hilary Anderson recently joined Urgent Care for Children in Birmingham, and we were able to chat with her about her new role there.
BFFM: Tell our readers a little about yourself.
Dr. Anderson: I was born and raised in Kentucky, and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky. My husband (who is also a physician) and I both matched for residency in Birmingham, and we have fallen in love with this city! I’ve also completed my pediatrics residency from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
BFFM: What drew you to practice at Urgent Care for Children?
Dr. Anderson: UC4C is such a unique practice. I love their mission and their vision, and providing care for children at a practice that focuses on evening and weekend hours was appealing to me. And, UC4C is the first Sensory Inclusive Urgent Care in the nation, and I’m proud to be part of a practice that has taken the steps necessary to achieve that designation.
BFFM: At which location will parents be able to find you?
Dr. Anderson: I will be practicing from both our Vestavia Hills location (opening soon!) and our Trussville location.
BFFM: What does free time look like for you? What are your interests?
Dr. Anderson: Of course, I love spending time with friends and family. My husband and I welcomed our first child earlier this year, so we are busy loving on her. My husband and I both attended the University of Louisville for undergrad, so we love Cardinal football and basketball, too!
BFFM: Thank you for your time!
Dr. Anderson: Thank you as well!

They opened a second location in 2018 in Trussville, at 117 North Chalkville Road. Their vision and mission is to “provide quality care, convenient care, continuity of care.”
This June, they announced three new locations opening soon in Alabama: Vestavia Hills, Northport (Tuscaloosa), and Madison (Huntsville). Visit them online at childrensurgent.com, or call them at (205) 848-CARE.
