Last weekend, we had company so our table was a little fuller than usual. We decided to have a family movie night complete with homemade pizza. Typically, we would buy the pizza dough and all the yummy toppings, but this time we decided to try something new. Because we had a few other things to pick up, we stopped at Wal-Mart and grabbed a couple of their extra-large 5 cheese pizzas, a pack of pepperoni, and 2 cans of tiny shrimp before we headed home.
We decided to let the kids have one pizza to themselves. They had a blast “making” their pizza and trying their best to use every single pepperoni in the package. For the adult pizza, we topped it with 2 whole cans of the tiny shrimp, feta cheese, and some fresh basil from our herb garden. We then cooked the pizzas according to the directions on the package.
The better pizza in my book was the shrimp and basil pizza, but there wasn’t much left of either one when dinner time was over. Overall we spent less than $25 to feed 6 people dinner. For the convenience and the cost, I will definitely put this on our menu rotation. You could change up the ingredients to suit your taste, or just enjoy the cheese pizza! What are your favorite pizza toppings?
