Called for Courage

It’s another SoulFULL Sunday!

Verse of the week: Isaiah 41:9-10

I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I hope you enjoyed last week’s post about living without fear! This week, we build upon that theme with “Called to Courage.” Our modern era provokes the spirit fear all too easily, and our children can suffer without even knowing they were impacted.

It’s kind of like the fight parents face over sugar! It’s in almost everything we eat and we must be careful to avoid it excesses and terrible health results.

Likewise, fear and timidity seems like it’s in the air, the water, and almost every corner of our environment. It is also something that can be defeated, for God says so!

Continue to use the suggestions from last week, such as asking questions, sharing stories, and reading the Bible together. Add to this the verse above, which is a promise from God to you.

Originally, God made this promise to Israel, through the prophet Isaiah. Facing terrible times, God’s people needed encouragement! This is also a prophecy for all of God’s people today. When my husband and I brought home our first, and adopted, son, God led us to make Isaiah 41:9-10 CJ’s life verse. Eleven years later, it is amazing to look back and already see how well this verse fits his personality!

Lesson at Home

1. I am called and wanted

2. God chose me for a purpose and has not rejected me.

3. Fear and dismay are not options.

4. God will do the work to give me strength!

5. God will uphold me and not let me fall!

Be blessed and encouraged this week! Please let us know how you have been helped.
